The Power of Content
The last post the I wrote was in 2017. It hassince I made a podcast episode. A lot has changed in my life since 2017. Age of Radio brings in revenue every month. JV Impacts branched off, and now I own a fitness center in Mesa. It is called 3T Fitness. We focus on Human Optimization and Fat Mobilization. I still work at the bank, and I have many goals that are a part of that. However; with owning multiple businesses I spend a lot of time working. I start my day at 4:00 AM and it usually doesn’t end until 10:00 PM at night or later. I wouldn’t change it for the world.
I don’t obsessively follow Gary Vaynerchuk, but I do enjoy listening to his You Tube channel, and reading his books. His book Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook has really driven my approach. In a nutshell, you provide the community of your niche so much value through different mediums that when you go for an ask they all buy. This is why content is so important. A lot of people refer to it as content marketing, although some content marketing can be free. However, I just like to think about it as making the word a better place. That is what the purpose of content should be. At least in my mind.
Why should we spend so much time providing content. I mean it takes a lot of hard work. The JV Impacts podcast is free to everyone, and we just had our 425th episode. It has taken us almost two years. We have spent that time building a community. People listen to the podcast to gain insight. If content provides insight then it can change the world.
Insight is the capacity to gain an accurate and deep intuitive understanding of a person or a thing. In this case you are the person. Do you remember that book the Secret? Here is a long You Tube video of it if you want to watch a movie about a book about the law of attraction.
Anyway, if you skipped over the video, that is fine. I am not a fan. However; the law of attraction is the important part. Essentially, if you meditate and visualize what you want (the right way) then you can make all of your dreams true. Now, it sounds like a bunch of hocus pocus , but it isn’t. What is happening is that if you visualize what you want, and meditate on it every day. You start to change. If you are constantly thinking about something then you start taking actions, and putting yourself in specific situation to gain the knowledge needed to make that “dream” come true. The only real thing that changed was you, and how you see the world. You gained insight.
If you are a content creator and your content provides real insight to the people that come across your content then they become better people, and do better for the community. More importantly, if they gain insight from your content then you created a fan, and the more fans you have the larger the community you have. That is how you Jab. Then when you write a book, or start a company, or create a product, or teach a class, or whatever…your community will buy. This is how real marketing works. It only works if you truly care about the people that you are leading. There is that saying, “fake it till you make it.” Well, that works in certain instances. It doesn’t work with caring for people. To truly care about people, your customers, your family, or whomever; You Have To Care. This is how you create a following. This how you create a Tribe.
