Let It Flow! Let it Flow!
I set a deadline to have the Age of Radio Business Plan done by 12/23/2017. I was cruising right along and then everything changed. Well not entirely. What changed was for good. This gentlemen Zach helped give us direction.
How did everything change with Zach. Well, JV Impacts hired him as a consultant. He helped point us in the right direction. He helped me realize one fatal flaw in the initial strategy. I thought my role was to sell John Vasquez. However, John Vasquez is not just a person, but a brand. John can only manage so many clients. There are only two ways to scale. One, we can hire a bunch of Johns, and have them manage accounts. The 2nd is to create a membership platform and sell knowledge. Which leads me to the JV Impacts 3T Method Fat Shredding Program. John created a revolutionary system to help men over 35 shred body fat. What Zach helped us/me realize is that this is the best place for us to start. Using a membership platform, everyone in the world can technically hire John. They won’t have direct contact with him, but they will have access to the knowledge that he shares. I am not going to talk to much about the program. If you want to learn more, click on the image.
To move in the new direction is going to take a lot of changes. My role in this, that I can tell, is to create the landing page. Which has taken up most of my time. We activated very quickly because we want to launch the 3T Method in January. John is feverishly working on the membership platform. In between creating the new funnel style home page, I have been working on the Age of Radio Business Plan. It is looking very good. I have built out a valuation model for the company. I will talk about the valuation process in upcoming podcasts, and blogs.
I am having a hard time with a few of the items on the business plan because it is all new too me. It’s like I woke up one day and said, “Jeremy why don’t you make a business that you know nothing about!” That is what I feel like sometimes. To recap I have a B.S. in Accountancy and Finance from Arizona State University, a MBA from Northeastern University, and a Graduate Certificate in Marketing from Northeastern University. Obviously, I understand how to make the business run, and I am pretty fucking confident I can turn it in to a $100MM dollar company over the next 15 years. However, this is based on the fact that I can get money. This is where my concerns come in.
I can make money in three ways: revenue, debt, investors. I don’t like the last two, so I am stuck with revenue for right now. I have been toying with the idea of doing small Kickstarter campaigns. The alternative is to go through investor crowdfunding, which is like a Kickstarter campaign to a degree, but people are buying small amounts of the company. I am not sure if I am going to go this route, but I guess we will see.
Revenue is probably the best way to get money….since that is how businesses work. It’s just that the revenue model is based on ad inventory. This is what I don’t know how to do. Do I just call companies, and ask them to sponsor my shows. I technically only have two. JV Impacts and Age of Jeremy. Which brings me to another sour spot. I have two major flaws as a human being. One. I can’t explain what I am thinking very well because my brain works faster than my mouth. Two, I assume everyone in the world wants to be successful as bad as me, and it just isn’t true. I have not been seeing the progress I would like on shows I am creating. This is 25% my fault. One, I don’t want to devote all my Age of Radio time to shows when I don’t have a business plan completed. Two, I don’t have the Age of Radio Site Up yet. I think I will make progress when I can actively manage the shows.
My plan is to get the business plan done, get both the JV Impacts and Age of Radio landing page done, and then make shows and sell ads. Easy Fucking Peasy!
So, what’s the point?! Well, I think it is important to realize that changes happen. You need to go with the flow and make the best decision you can with the data that you have. Also, if you are going to start a business, get good at not knowing what you are doing and learn quickly.
